Weapon Side-grades!
Most of the weapons in 8Bitmmo are a bit samey, except for the Hammer And the Pixel Pistol and Laser Rifle, but still, I think we need a few weapon side-grades. Like for example, how about a knife that does less damage then the sword, but can attack as fast as you can spam that spacebar? Or how about a Sledgehammer that acts sort of like the Laser Rifle, in the sense that you have to charge it for a few seconds, and it does massive damage? However when charging you move much slower, not like stuck in place like the normal hammer, just, slower. I'm not saying you have to add these examples, I'm more just saying the game could use a few weapon side-grades to spice things up a bit. The rest of this post is probably going to just be me rambling on about dumb ideas for weapon sidegrades I have, so you might as well stop reading now. Why not a chargeable boomerang? The longer you charge it the farther out it could go, in an arc. The farther out the Boomerang goes, the more damage it does, so if you want to do massive damage with it, you gotta learn how much to charge it, and how far the boomerang could arc. Charge the boomerang for way too long, and when it comes back it will end up hitting you. Or something like that. If the boomerang hits a block it will harmlessly fall to the ground, and you will have to wait a few seconds before it teleports back into your hand. For another weapon, why not a staff of sorts that does not do too much damage, but has a bit of range on it compared to the hammer and swords, and if it hits an enemy the enemy will get knocked back a tiny bit, for breathing room. The more powerful the enemy the less far it will get knocked back. Also, just a crazy idea here, why not Dual wielding Pixel Pistols? It could be something that could be bought in the shop, but since the Pixel pistol does not really need to be reloaded I can't think of a downside for the pistol pixels.... Hmm... Heck, maybe you could consider a magic system, an optional magic system though. I imagine you could come up with spells a lot more creative then mine, but my idea for a magic system is that you can start using magic at any time, but magic will be very very VERY weak when you first start it, however if you invest time in using magic instead of the oh so tempting swords and hammer and etc, eventually magic will become quite powerful for you. In the end it will be a question, would you rather be very tough and powerful quickly? Or would you be super tough and powerful with time?
