Hmm… Possibly. More fun for players to haggle with each other during trade, but I can see the usefulness of being able to leave a NPC somewhere with your goods.
A "marketplace" for barter would be helpful, though. Imagine putting blocks on the market that you don't need, and asking for certain blocks in return. Another player may either accept that trade on the market, or haggle out of market for what he thinks is a better trade.

I have already suggested that we get npcs for various tasks including to run a player shop. I don't think the players should be allowed to use the market for then though. The market should be for e game npc shops or just standing around and trading. Player npcs should be limited to the players property.
He makes a good point. What's the point of having a market if no one wants to trade? (And there really is no point in trading to get your stuff 'cause you can just farm cats to achieve the same result.)
