Death Penalty
When you die, there should be some sort of punishment. I brought this idea up on the server, and we thought it would be neat, if you lost 5-20% of your gold each time you die. After each week there will be a lottery, where you can buy tickets for gold.
Of course this is just an idea, you (RobbyZ) can always just set it to take X amount of money when you die :)
Good points… PvP penalty needs to be carefully considered… I will think upon this.

Death Penalty. Sounds so capital punishment and mid evil. The cost of being resurrected from dieing sounds much more adequate. This is a very hard thing to decide upon. Having no penalty means who cares if I die or not and is of course less challenging. Then there's going to far and making the cost too much. Take Diablo for instance when you get to higher levels and it takes hours to level then you die and lose that exp it's a huge kick in the ass then you die again and again trying to get your equipment back from the 1st death is beyond frustrating. no don't do that. Of course where does the cost come in. Does it happen the moment you die or should it happen after you are resurrected taking into account how you died and how you were brought back. For instance if the cost is payment to be resurrected by whatever is the regular in game method but a friend resurrects you instead by whatever means should there still be a cost at all. Then of course there the biggest thing of all and it plagues every MMO. LAG!!! no one should suffer because of this beast but how do you prove it was lag that killed you??? Indeed a lot of thought needs to be take into this.

I'm against the idea. I'm always dying because of lag (not sure if my computer or the game, though), I don't want to lose my gold because of it.
Also, I like to just keep going out into the wilderness killing cats for as long as possible until I die. That would waste a good chunk of the money I boringly grinded for.
A lottery sounds ok, but people putting money into it should be voluntary, not as a result of a death tax or something.
